Some girls believe that they will find their beauty better if they look at the mirror more often or take many pictures to find out what corner of their face that looks the best. So do I.
Today I went to the studio at 7:30 in the morning to rehearse for my MC job. It was so early so I couldn't make up by myself. The make up artist helped me out with the look, so my day started prettily.
Now I am dreaming to be on TV in this program. Wish my dream come true. :)
This title is inspired by the video clip of Matt that I linked below.
I have been struggled to be an amateur model since I was 18. At first I worked for free, I joined any shows that was possible for me to practice my catwalk skill, I made mistake and I learned. Until one day I felt that I grew big enough to earn with those skills, I withdrew from the teenager model club and started working on my own, as a MC, PG, and as a model.
That was how I started to be Lyn - MC now.
Some days ago my friend asked me to work for the event that he said will be shown online. I thought it was small show and as a close friend, I can help him for free, so I didn't care much about money issue.
After that I am asked to do more works for free.
Sorry! When I have invested enough to have serious MC career, I need people to appreciate and treat me like I am a real MC.
That's it. No more free lunches in the world.
Thank you for those who have been putting me in the right place or right position where I deserve to be! :)
P/S: of course, if you have interesting charity shows or activities, I'll join. Those are not counted here. :D
Today my MC club gave me an alarm clock as a present. They think it fits me nicely. I think so too :) . I have been running around the city like crazy for the last week. Today I helped a foreign friend to buy an aquarium and had a MC show in the evening. It’s hard to find motivation to write English at night after a busy day, but I know I have to do it to make myself better in writing. At least I feel happy about getting a bit skinnier from playing badminton 3-4 a week. Big thanks to the coach who keeps yelling at me to make me work hard. It was very fortunate that I bought a good badminton racket from Japan when I was there. Badminton was actually a class in the university in Japan :D . Too bad it’s not possible to major in it.
Seriously, I am now 24 years old and I can't even tell you where I am now on my career path. I have been thinking about being a professional MC for some years. Though at this time after 3 years pursuing it, I can't tell you how good or bad I am.
Anyway, yesterday I did quite a good job with the show according to the feedback from the customers. The biggest guy of the company - Commonwealth bank office in HCMC said my English is good. Thank you so much for saying that, Sir! That means a lot and will make me more confident on the way of becoming a good English MC.
But frankly speaking, getting into showbiz or being part of it is not easy in this country. Some of my friends have told me: "That field is "sour."
Fortunately, I am not super discouraged now. I think even if I cannot become someone in showbiz, I'll find my own path and end up doing something I like.
I will start linking my blog post to Facebook so that it’s easier for my Facebook friends to follow me here.
Today is a hard day for me with the hangover from drinking last night. It was nice and cool to chill out with my buddies in Pandora Sky Lounge in Bui Thi Xuan Street. The night view was awesome and the cocktail was nice. But to be honest, having hangover in the morning is not cool at all especially when someone needs to go to work the day after.
I will have MC work tomorrow in Ho Tram Grand Strip, so I’ll have to commute from HCMC to the place early in the morning. I am both excited and anxious for the fact that the show will be hosted in English. I hope that the show will go well. Good luck to me! :)
